Compress a video to 100 MB
The target starts at 100 MB, a roomy size that keeps long clips sharp.
This browser cannot compress video here
Target: 100 MB. You can change it after adding a video. Your video stays on your device.
How it works
- Add your video. Large files are read in pieces, not all at once.
- Check that the custom size reads 100 MB.
- Press Compress. A long video can take a few minutes.
- Download the MP4.
What fits in 100 MB
One hundred megabytes holds several minutes of 1080p video, or a long recording at 720p.
The table uses the rule Auto resolution follows: at least 0.05 bits per pixel at 30 frames per second, plus 96 kbps stereo audio. Busy footage such as sport or water needs more bits than a talking head, so treat the times as a guide.
| Resolution | Longest clip |
|---|---|
| 1080p (1920×1080) | about 4 minutes |
| 720p (1280×720) | about 8 minutes |
| 480p (854×480) | about 17 minutes |
When 100 MB makes sense
Chat apps rarely accept this much, but shared folders, class portals and file links often do. Use 100 MB when you want to keep a long recording sharp and still cut a large phone video down to a manageable size.
If your original is already smaller than 100 MB, the tool tells you and offers the original file. It will not inflate a small video to fill the target.
Questions
My video is 400 MB. Can it be 100 MB?
Usually yes. Phone videos are recorded at a high bitrate, so a clip of a few minutes often shrinks to a quarter of its size with little visible change.
Is a big file read into memory all at once?
No. The input is read in pieces while it is encoded. The result is held in memory, so your device needs room for at least 100 MB plus working space.
What if my video is already under 100 MB?
The tool says so and offers the original for download. You can still choose Compress anyway.
Are there daily limits or watermarks?
No. There are no accounts, no daily limits and no watermark on the result.
