What fits in 20 MB
Twenty megabytes is the sweet spot for short clips: enough for a clear picture, and small enough for most chat apps.
The table uses the rule Auto resolution follows: at least 0.05 bits per pixel at 30 frames per second, plus 96 kbps stereo audio. Busy footage such as sport or water needs more bits than a talking head, so treat the times as a guide.

Where 20 MB is the limit
Free Discord accounts can upload files up to 20 MB, which is the same as the first preset on this site. The custom size on this page is the same number, which is handy when you want to bookmark it.
Email is different. Message limits are counted after the file is encoded, so an attachment needs to be well under 20 MB.

Is 20 MB the same as the Discord preset?
Yes. Discord (free) is 20 MB. This page just opens with the number typed in as a custom size.
Will a 20 MB result be exactly 20 MB?
No. It is never larger than 20 MB, and usually between about 16 and 20 MB, because the tool first aims a little under the limit.
How do I know the result really fits?
The tool reads the finished file and compares its real size with the target. It shows the original size, the new size and the percent saved.
Can I compress several videos at once?
Not at the moment. Add one video, download the result, then add the next one.
